I has been performing and teaching guitar for more than 40 years.  Before moving to Arizona in 1988, I owned and operated Wood & Strings Music Center in Arlington, Massachusetts. Wood & Strings was a folk music shop, a school for private and group instruction and folk music concert venue that became a central meeting place for music lovers and enthusiasts throughout the Greater Boston Area.  Along with my staff of 20 instructors for various acoustic instruments, I taught as many as 40 guitar students weekly.

My unique style and approach to playing and composing music has become the foundation from which I share my love of music through teaching and mentoring acoustic fingerstyle guitar.

Well qualified to teach beginning students as well, my mission as a teacher is to instill a love and excitement for the guitar and to share my personal approach to creating melodic arrangements that showcase the guitar's unique ability to produce a rich and complete musical sound that includes melody, harmony and rhythm.

Whether you wish to accompany yourself on the guitar or play complete instrumental arrangements of the music you love, I can give you the tools and insights to develop your own ability to express that music you love on the guitar.
